‘Han Solo in Carbonite’ Desk… Wow!

25 February 2008 · Leave a Comment

This desk is designed by Tim Spina for a big Star Wars fan.  We think that it would look nice here at our office, although you really need to be a big, big Star Wars fan to have this made, you also need to have a filled wallet. Because – believe us – this doesn’t sell  for cheap. The main box for the desk is made in custom metal with both computer cut side boxes lighting up with an orange glow and the piece is topped with a ½” thick glass.

The drink bucket is sure a head turner. The base is lit when the bottle of wine is in the bucket inviting you to pick it up and goes dark the moment the wine is off the bucket. We got to have one…

$100 Water…

9 February 2008 · Leave a Comment

Bling Water is all the rage in the elite circles these days and Osaka-based super-glam bottled water brand Fillico Beverly Hills just upped the ante for other water brands with their $100-a-bottle water. Featuring a frosted glass bottle decorated with Swarovski crystals and etched with gold paint, the bottle retails for double the price if you decide to opt for a silver or gold crown! The water comes from a natural spring in Kobe and the bottle sells at the exclusive Ritz Carlton in Tokyo. For that kinda price you’d think the water will have properties that make you immortal or lets you stay young forever but it just does what regular tap water does-quench thirst.

Bubble Beds for Pets

9 February 2008 · Leave a Comment

B.pet is a project born of love for design and for animals. Their furniture collection for your pampered pets touts inimitable shapes and textures that complement a contemporary and design-oriented home. The two pet beds, which impressed me the most, are the Bubble Silver and the Bubble Gold. Launched at the Christmas time last year, the Bubble Silver is an elegant pet bed in silver Perspex with double light effect. It’s glazed from outside, polished from inside and further festooned with a posh Swarovski decoration. You can have the Bubble Silver here.

Who wants a Learjet…

If you can get this. Aerion comes with a supersonic business jet, that looks a bit like the Concorde. Now, while the Concorde was a civilian flight, the SBJ is aimed solely at the corporates and jet setting billionaires to insure the return of the invested cash. The preliminary orders the company booked in just three months is nearly $1.5 billion with an initial deposit of $250,000 for its $80 million SBJ. The SBJ flies at a maximum of Mach 1.6 to reduce the need for costly high-temperature materials. It will also fly at a maximum of 51,000 feet like other other business jets.

Sounds nice, uh? Well, you’ll have to wait until 2014 before the first SBJ takes off…

Madness on 42nd street

5 February 2008 · Leave a Comment

Check out this video I found on Youtube. You will never ever get a situation like this in the Netherlands because the Dutch are way more ‘cooler’ about celebrities. The fact is that a celebrity is human like the rest of the world, now, we don’t get it why these girls in America fail to understand this.

Maybe this is why a lot of American celebs love to live (or perform) in the Netherlands. We are cool.
